David Beckham Meets Bolivian Billionaire Marcelo Claure In Miami

Sir David Beckham is in Miami to talk football business with potential investors including Bolivian billionaire Marcelo Claure, over his dream of creating a Major League Soccer Team (MLS). This comes as part ofBeckham’s contract with the Los Angeles Galaxy Football Club,stipulating he would be able to purchase a new MLS franchise for $25 million.
The veteran soccer star is hoping to start a team in the Miami area, as MLS has aspirations to expand from 19 to 24 clubs by 2020 andClaure, the billionaire founder of Brightstar, the world’s largest specialized wireless distributor and a leading global services company, is alleged to be a potential partner in the venture.
According to reports, both men were seen touring sites on Wednesday, Nov 13, for a potential stadium, as the existing stadiums like Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida International University’s Alfonso Field and Marlins Park in Little Harvana, all have drawbacks. The two famous men also reportedly took launch together at the Zuma Restaurant in Miami to continue talks on the new MLS soccer stadium.

A source close to the star admitted he was going to spend the next few days meeting potential investors and trying to identify a site for a purpose-built football stadium, adding: ‘We’re still in the process of analyzing the deal and looking at sites and finalizing investor groups.We’re still in the planning stage, but there is a lot of excitement here.’
The source added: ‘The key idea here is that we want this to last for a long, long, long time. We need our partners to be right and we need things to be right on a local, national and global scale.’
The father-of-four has been spotted with Bolivian-born billionaireMarcelo on a number of occasions on Beckham’s last visits, including attending a Miami Hear game together. Claure is known to be an avid football fan and part-time Miami resident, and who even owns one of Bolivia’s top clubs, Bolivar.
