Kevin-Prince Boateng says he still committed to play for Ghana

Midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has defended his commitment to the Ghana cause despite missing two of the last qualifiers in the Brazil 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
The Schalke 04 is yet to play his first match for the Black Stars since ending a self-imposed two-year exile from international football in August.

In September, the-26-year-old honoured an invitation to play against Zambia in the final Group D qualifier but was sidelined after picking up an injury in training.
Last month, he was unable to join his teammates prepare for the first leg tie against Egypt in Kumasi after picking up an injury before the international break while playing for his Bundesliga side.
Despite having plausible reasons for why showing up on these two occasions, it absence on these two occasions has nourished the perception among Ghanaian fans he is not fully committed.
But he sharply disagrees and says he only wants to show up when he is 100 percent fit.

“It is definitely not the case. I am always happy when I have to play for the Black Stars that is why I am here because I am a part of the team and the coach, the president and the players know I am always proud to be here,” Boateng told All Sports.
“Of course it is a bad situation because every time there is a national team game I have a problem. Of course I can’t come if I am injured. I wanna be 100 per cent, I wanna be able to give everything when I come to play for Ghana.”
Boateng was accused by some fans, mostly on social media, of malingering.
He added that: “Social network is an easy way to insult people and say bad things to them.”
“The last time that I could not come to play for Ghana people sent me messages that we were not nice including people praying that I got injured.
“These messages they are not nice because I love playing football, I love playing football for my club, I love playing football for the Ghana.”
