Mo Abudu’s Ebony Life TV To Co-Produce Real Housewives Of Africa

MO-RHOAMo Abudu‘s Ebony Life TV has clinched a big deal with Disney Media Distribution, EMEA.
EMEA has disclosed plans to produce the African version of  The Real Housewives. Just like EMEA partners with Bravo network  to bring the The Real Housewives franchise to the American TV screen, they are partnering with EbonyLife TV to bring the franchise to African TV screens.
The series will be filmed in Nigeria. The cast for the Nigerian series which will be filmed on location in Lagos, and will include actors from across Africa, and producers say production will follow the format and storylines of the original US version, but with a Nigerian flavour.
Giovanni Mastrangelo, general manager, Disney Media Distribution, Emerging Markets, said:
“The purpose for bringing Desperate Housewives to Africa is to engage African audiences through locally relevant and entertaining storytelling.”

By the way, there’s the reality version of Real Housewives like the Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA), Real Housewives of Miami (RHOM), Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (RHOBH) and Real Housewives of New Jersey (RHONJ) which we are all used to watching here in Africa.
Then there’s the not-so-popular parody version like Real Housewives of Disney (RHOD) featuring some of the famous Disney princesses…where Lindsay Lohan plays Rapunzel… and there’s a Snow White, Jasmine, Belle and Cinderella. There’s even one Prince Charming who acts so silly!
I’m guessing the one for Africa would be the reality and not the parody type. Can’t wait to watch!
Watch the parody RHOD…
