A West Virginia teenager will spend the next 15 years in jail, at least, after being sentenced to life in prison on Friday for murdering her former best friend and leaving her body in woodland.
Sheila Eddy and her friend Rachel Shoaf were accused of luring 16-year-old Skylar Neese out of her house in July 2012, before stabbing her to death and hiding the body in Pennsylvania Woods. After pleading guilty to first degree murder under a plea agreement, Sheila – who is now 18-years-old – will be eligible for parole after a long bid of 15 years in prison.
Sheila pretended to know nothing after her BFF’s death and even consoled the family and shared her condolence on Twitter. A member of the mourning family explained:“She came and acted as if she knew nothing. She pretended and stayed with us and comforted us and swore she had no idea what was going.To come to this day and admit she did just shows how evil she can be.”
A motive for the murder was never revealed and the closest explanation Skylar’s family has received came from Rachel Shoaf, who allegedly told police they no longer wanted to be friends with the Skylar.
