Golden Eaglets Defeat Super Falcons 6-0 In Friendly

Nigeria U-17 team demolished the women's senior national team 6-0 in a friendly match at the NFF/FIFA Goal Project Pitch in Abuja on April 4, 2014, Friday.

Emmanuel Amuneke's boys, the Golden Eaglets, will be facing Mali and Niger in Group B of the 2014 West African Football Union (WAFU) championship in Togo, from April 19 to April 27, 2014.

Moreover, coach Amuneke is expected to reel out a 30-man team for the tourney, which will put his boys in proper shape as they face either Burundi or Congo DR in August for the Niger 2015 African U17 Championship, which serves as qualifiers for the FIFA U17 World Cup that will hold in Chile in 2015 (17 October - 8 November).

Edwin Okon's girls, the Super Falcons, are currently preparing for an international friendly against the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon later in April.

It would be recalled that the Golden Eaglets became the most successful team in the history of U-17 FIFA World Cups, after they beat Mexico in the final of the U.A.E. tournament in November 2013.
