In 2010 American Idol alumna Jennifer Hudson started her weight loss journey. Two years later she had dropped more than 80 pounds and had become an official spokeswoman for Weight Watchers. The Grammy and Oscar winner has managed to keep the weight off and continues to work hard inspiring others with her story.
Though she placed sixth on the third season of American Idol, Hudson, 32, serves as a role model for Season 2 winner Ruben Studdard, 35. The 462-pound singer is competing on Season 15 of The Biggest Loser and hopes to slim down to a healthier weight.
"I am so proud of Ruben," she told reporters. "It’s one thing to lose weight, it’s another thing to keep it off. I do believe if he’s gone this far to make that commitment, he’ll make it. Just keep that mindset. I was just so happy for him. It’s a journey. He has to find his niche and work in his own time."
The supportive star is currently working on her third studio album which is set for an early 2014 release. She and fiancé of five years, WWE wrestler David Otunga, are parents to son David Daniel Otunga, Jr., 4.
Hudson told Us that her perfect date night includes "sitting on our couch at home. [David will] find a series of a show, and we'll just watch the entire season. Just us."
