It’s True! Amber Heard and Johnny Depp Are Engaged

It’s the happy news we’ve all been waiting for.

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are officially off the market.

Ever since they started dating under the radar after meeting on the set of Rum Diaries 2011 and only semi-confirming their romance through photos of the two on the town, Celebuzz has confirmed the gorgeous couple are engaged.

And it was the Christmas present of a lifetime.

“It happened on Christmas Eve,” a source close to the family told Celebuzz.

“Amber really took her time to make up her mind.”

We know what you’re thinking, when Captain Jack Sparrow asks you to marry him the only answer you blurt out is “Y-E-S!”

But apparently the 27-year-old actress, who previously had a four-year relationship photographer Tasya van Ree, hesitated for awhile, added the source, and wanted to make the amazing life-changing decision when it was right for her. That's because apparently this wasn’t the first time the 50-year-old big screen heartthrob asked her to be Mrs. Johnny Depp.

“She turned him down before,” added the source, “before she said yes. So she waited and was thinking about it for a long time.”

It was a few days after Depp, who split from Vanessa Paradis in 2012 after 14 years together, got down on one knee that the family found out the big news.

And the confirmation was a long time coming. After solidifying their relationship in private, the stunning twosome finally made their official public red carpet debut as a couple the night before the Golden Globes Jan. 11 at the Art of Elusium gala in Los Angeles.

Engagement rumors then surfaced when Heard was caught by a photog as she left West Hollywood’s Ago restaurant noticeably trying to cover up her left hand. But E! News was able to catch a glimpse of the stunning sparkler.
