BAFTA 2014 best actor award goes to the 36-year old British actor Chiwetel Ejiofor, who demonstrated outstanding acting in Steve McQueen's slavery drama 12 Years a Slave.
It this honest contest he has beaten such movie gurus as Tom Hanks, Leonardo DiCaprio, Christian Bale and Bruce Dern.
Ejiofor has already deserved the reputation of "one of the greatest actors in his generation", having received numerous awards, including the BAFTA Orange Rising Star Award in 2006, 5 Golden Glove Award nominations and the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor. Moreover, he was presented with an OBE by Queen Elizabeth II for services to the arts.
