Broadway didn’t send its’ regards to Woody Allen, when the venerated filmmaker caught a musical over the weekend.
The NY Post is reporting that Allen, in the limelight as of late withrehashed allegations he behaved inappropriately with ex Mia Farrow‘s daughter Dylanmore than 20 years ago, was showered with boos as he left Saturday’s performance of “After Midnight,” at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre.
“A 60-something woman loudly exclaimed to her friend, ‘I think he did it!’ as Woody and his family scooted out.,” an eyewitness told the paper. “A protective Soon-Yi shot her a dirty look — Woody seemed unfazed.”
Earlier in the evening, Woody seemed comfortable canoodling with Soon-Yi, with an attendee saying she made “a very loving gesture” toward her embattled spouse.
In related news, the rehashed allegations, launched with a Feb. 1 essay published in the NY Times, have been linked to stagnant advance sales of Allen’s upcoming Broadway production of Bullets Over Broadwaywith Zach Braff in the lead, as insiders tell the paper the show has only sold 40 percent of the advance tickets they’re hoping to move when it opens Apr. 10.
As we previously reported, Allen has denied the accusations made in the bombshell piece in a counterpoint essay he wrote, detailing his side of the story.
