BMW 4-Series Coupe Concept Why it is hot: This is the hot sister to BMW's flagship, the 3-Series sedan. Spy shots show that it has a more graceful roofline and rounder haunches than the staunch 3-Series. The production version will appear at the Geneva show in March.
Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster Why it is hot: Possibly the hottest car I have seen all year, despite that blue paint job. The 700-horsepower drop-top looks even better in person than in photos. The two-piece roof is made entirely of carbon fiber.
Mercedes-Benz CLA Why it is hot: Compact, with four doors. Tuned by the Mercedes performance division, AMG. Also: Kate Upton!
Audi R8Why it is hot: It is a V10, for starters. It looks calm, efficient and domineering in a very self-assured way. It is one of the few bona fide supercars you can use as a daily-driver (a new dual-clutch automatic transmission is available). Every auto critic loves this car.
Cadillac ATSWhy it is hot: This is Cadillac's attempt at taking down the BMW 3-Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Audi A4 and Lexus IS. The automaker has realized it needs something between the CTS variants that can compete in the sport sedan category. Most importantly: A Corvette-produced V8 will be under the hood. Look for it to be muscle-y and earnest to drive.
