ONCE LOST, BUT NOW FOUNDepisodes of space and time travel adventure TV show Dr Who are being sold through Apple's iTunes service.
Dr Who is a popular BBC show about a man who lives in a box, keeps moving around, changing his identity and meeting young people. It is usually on telly at teatime.
The lost episodes are archive stuff in black and white and Dr Who is played by Patrick Troughton. They are from series called "The Enemy of the World" and "The Web of Fear".
The recovered episodes were discovered in Nigeria by archivist Philip Morris of the Television International Enterprises Archive (TIEA). They are from the BBC Dr Whoseries that aired in 1967 and 1968.
"What you are about to see has not been seen since its original transmission in 1968, 45 years ago, and it is my greatest pleasure in the 50th anniversary year ofDr Who, in a joint project between TIEA and BBC Worldwide to unveil [two] classic adventures. My work is never done and as you know the search continues," said Morris, the executive director of the TIEA.
"I dedicate these recently returned episodes to everyone who has ever worked on the show and to all Dr Who fans around the world. I have your best interests at heart."
The episodes are on iTunes now and each costs £1.89. DVDs will follow next month. µ
