Live-tweeting is nothing new to the web, but in a strange twist of fate, a Vancouver, Washington woman live-tweeted her husband’s death and didn’t even know it.
Caran Johnson is known for tweeting under the name @ScanCouver, and normally tweets traffic news to over a thousand followers. After a crash on I-205 was reported, Johnson followed the story and gave updates to her followers throughout the day.

One lane of I-205 is closed. WSP will likely have to block the whole interstate to allow the helicopter to land.
They said they are so close to SWWMC, they can take the patient there, instead of Lifeflight. #clark911

It wasn’t until her husband didn’t return home from work that Caran realized it was him involved in the fateful crash.
I’m trying not to panic, but my husband left work early and he drives 205 to get home. he’s not answering his phone.

I just called his work and he was feeling faint when he left work. #panic

She received an immense amount of support online and thanked her followers for their prayers. We hope Caran and her family can grieve privately during this tragedy.
