Demi Lovato Slams Lady Gaga On Twitter After SXSW Bulimia Stunt

Demi Lovato Lady Gaga SXSW

Demi Lovato took to Twitter to slam Lady Gaga for ‘glamorizing eating disorders’ in her controversial SXSW performance. It’s not ‘cool’ or ‘artsy,’ Demi declares in a series of emotional tweets.

Bulimia is nothing to make light of, and no one knows that better than Demi Lovato, who first opened up about her struggles with eating disorders in 2011. Demi is one of many who were shocked and appalled when Lady Gaga allowed performance artist Millie Brown to vomit on her on stage while performing her hit song “Swine” at the SXSW festival on March 13. Do YOU agree with Demi? Was Lady Gaga out of line for glamorizing bulimia?
Demi is making sure her voice is heard, sounding off against Lady Gaga’s bulimia stunt by staging a one-person protest on Twitter.
As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Lady Gaga opened up to Harper’s Bazaar in February about her own former battle with bulimia, saying, ”I am better with food. I don’t have an eating disorder anymore.” We’re so glad Lady Gaga has conquered her demons, but her connection to the disorder makes her decision to include vomit painter Millie Brown in her act all the more perplexing.
We know Lady Gaga likes to push the envelope but we think she can find a better way to express her creativity that doesn’t encourage bulimia.
