Several months ago, this (un)official "Fast and Furious 7" movie trailer starring Justin Bieber went viral on the web:
Justin Bieber stars alongside Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, and Michelle Rodriguez in the action-packed seventh installation of the "Fast & Furious" film series. Well, not exactly, but the Biebs and his "fast cars" DO star in a mock trailer that's since gone viral online. The "Boyfriend" crooner goes totally bada$ in the one-minute clip... he even gets shot and blooded-up by Rodriguez! So what do fans think - would 19-year-old Bieber make an awesome addition to the blockbuster franchise that centers on illegal street racing and heists?
"Fast & Furious 6" just hit theaters back in May - "Fast & Furious 7" already started shooting in August 2013. Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Vin Diesel, Ludacris, and Jordana Brewster all signed on to star as their characters from previous films. So where does the Biebs fit in with all of this?
Well, he doesn't - this FAKE trailer was posted by HollywoodLife back in July to thrill Beliebers. Apparently Ludacris once suggested that he'd try to land his buddy a role in the upcoming flick. But that was all mere speculation.
Now things have taken a rather somber turn. "Fast and Furious" star Paul Walker recently passed away in a tragic car crash, and Universal indefinitely shut-down production following this shocking accident.
Right now, all of us at Universal are dedicated to providing support to Paul's immediate family and our extended Fast & Furious family of cast, crew and filmmakers.
At this time we feel it is our responsibility to shut down production on Fast & Furious 7 for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise.
We are committed to keeping Fast & Furious fans informed, and we will provide further information to them when we have it. Until then, we know they join us in mourning the passing of our dear friend Paul Walker.
But rumors suggest that the show must go on. Apparently, producers plan on rewriting the script and retiring Walker's character Brian O'Conner (by using already-filmed footage of the deceased star).
So... what's the deal with Bieber?
On Twitter, a rumor start circulating that the Biebs would actually replace O'Conner. Some fans were NOT amused:
@Sam_Hart1: "Rather eat broken glass than see Justin Bieber in fast and furious! #DontRuinAGreatFilm."
@Ellen_Coxx: "My sorry but if @justinbieber thinks he can replace Paul walker in Fast and Furious 7 he's got another thing coming #Madness#Idiot."
@Joelhamel_: "Thats hella messed up if theyre really gonna replace paul walker with justin bieber in fast and furious. They might as well just not make it."
@ThatsUnexpected: "Justin Bieber in Fast and Furious 7? That's a sick joke...hopefully Jason Statham kills him in the opening scene.
@Merce_zr2: "Fast and Furious is a guys and girls movie, cast Justin Bieber into it and it turns into a movie for 13 year old girls."
@iLikeGirlsDaily: "RETWEET if you do not want to see Justin Bieber in Fast & Furious 7 as Brian. Hopefully the studio will see this! #NOJUSTINFORFF7."
@TheBardockObama: "Justin Bieber wants to take Paul Walkers place in the new Fast and Furious film. Why doesn't he take his place in the car accident instead?"
@pgsikoral: "Justin Bieber is replacing Paul Walker in the new Fast and Furious. They might as well piss on Pauls grave.
Pretty harsh stuff, but Paul Walker fans shouldn't worry. Bieber NEVER said he wanted to replace the late actor's character in the "Fast and Furious 7" flick. It's just a rumor. There are no plans for anything at the moment - the studio's giving Walker's family, friends, co-stars, and fans time to mourn and remember.
R.I.P Paul Walker
