Jim Iyke Arrested in Ghana After Fight Over $10,000


Nollywood actor Jim Iyke and lover to Ghanaian actress, Nadia Buari became the headliner of various Ghanaian newspapers in the morning of December 18, 2013, Wednesday.
The local media alleged the actor has been involved in a fight at a café over monetary dealings. Reportedly he was arrested by Ghana police, but released shortly.
According to The Ghanaian Times, Jim Iyke was involved in a brawl at the Crave Cafe at Adjiringanor, East Legon in Accra, on December 17.



An eyewitness narrated that people were eating at the cafe at about 5 p.m., when a stout gentleman in a black Range Rover with a Nigerian number plate parked by the cafe.
Jim Iyke showed up about 20 minutes later, driving his Sports Chevy with a Nigerian number plate.
The actor engaged the man in a heated argument over $10,000 which later turned into a nasty brawl on the street.
The eyewitness further explained that it became difficult for those around to separate the two, and at a point, Jim Iyke wanted to get into his car to pull out something which was suspected to be gun, but he was prevented by those at the cafe.
Two policemen, one in mufti and the other in uniform, appeared at the scene of the conflict shortly, and apprehended Jim Iyke, took him away.
According to the Ghanaian Times, the arrest lasted about 20 minutes later. The actor came back to the café quite quickly, which created the impression the case had been "settled" by the two policemen.
The Legon Police Commander in a telephone conversation with the local newsmen said, the men he dispatched to the scene after receiving information found that people around were reluctant to give the police in-depth account of what actually transpired and so they were unable to bring the two men to the police station.
