Now this…this is too much!
The FBI have access to some of the most confidential information in the world, but it turns out they have access to much more than that…our personal lives via our webcams!
A new report is coming forward that says the FBI has the ability to turn on a person’s laptop webcam without having the indicator light turn on that lets a user know their camera is on.
According to The Washington Post, the hack is used mostly for terrorism cases or some of the “most serious” criminal investigations, but it doesn’t take away the fact that they can see almost anyone at anytime.
The site reports:
The FBI’s elite hacker team designed a piece of malicious software that was to be delivered secretly when Mo signed on to his Yahoo e-mail account, from any computer anywhere in the world, according to the documents. The goal of the software was to gather a range of information — Web sites he had visited and indicators of the location of the computer — that would allow investigators to find Mo and tie him to the bomb threats.
This is just creepy and weird. How do you guys feel about the FBI possibly watching you via your webcam?
