Nas to be honored at second annual Vibe Impact Awards

Rapper Nas Gets Hospitalized
Nas is undeniably one of hip-hop's top dawgs and with the 20th anniversary of his debut Illmatic approaching this year, Vibe Magazine will honor God's son at its second annual Vibe Impact Awards
That's a good look for the multi-platinum selling rapper.
The Vibe Impact Awards is an invitation-only gala, which pays homage to entertainers and figures who have helped shift pop culture. The gala will take place Jan. 24 right before the Grammy weekend kicks off at a secret location in Los Angeles.

Vibe's editor-in-chief Jermaine Hall had this to say of Nas' debut album:
"Arguably hip-hop's most flawless piece of work. Nas' ability to clearly capture his surroundings in song is a special talent."
The queen of hip-hop soul Mary J. Blige was honored at last year's ceremony at the Sunset Tower in West Hollywood.
Rapper Big Sean, who attended the ceremony last year, spoke highly of Blige.
"Mary is a legend. She's an OG in the game," Big Sean said. "She's somebody who told her story, kept it authentic, kept it real."
Sean "Diddy" Combs, Queen Latifah, SWV and Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds also attended the ceremony last year.
Wonder who's going to attend this year. Nonetheless, congrats are in order for Nas.
Hopefully he'll put out some new music to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Illmatic.
