Kerry Washington is reported to be expecting her first child, but the actress made sure to cover up any sign of a blooming baby bump when she stepped out in New York earlier today.

Speculation that the Scandal actress is pregnant has been brewing for awhile now, but new reports today have now "confirmed" that the 36-year-old IS having a little one with her NFL husband Nnamdi Asomugha.

Kerry married her hubby in a super private ceremony back in June and it seems like she also wants to keep her baby news a secret, leaving it to friends to break the exciting news.

"She's about four months along," a pal told Us Weekly regarding the "pregnant" star.

If the source is correct, this will be Kerry's first child and the news comes a few months after she wed her San Francisco 49ers other half on June 24 in Hailey, Idaho.

She may be keeping tight-lipped about the rumoured baby, but the star was all smiles as she was spotted running errands near her New York home on Wednesday.

The actress covered up against the chilly temperatures in multiple layers, making sure any bump was hidden underneath her stripy tee and a cosy long-line cardigan which she paired with matching white jeans and some comfy boots.

With her hair slicked back from her face and sunglasses on, the normally very private star looked happy to greet the paps as she dashed into some stores.
