Kimora Lee Simmons Donates $50k to Leading Anti-Violence Group Facedwith Funding Shortage

*(New York, NY) — World-renowned business mogul and model Kimora Lee Simmons has donated $50,000 to a leading New York based anti-violence group, LIFE Camp, Inc., bringing the total raised for the online crowd-sourcing campaign initiated on behalf of the group to $129,550.

According to Kimora Lee Simmons: “As a mother, an entrepreneur and a community member, I’m proud to support LIFE Camp and the work its founder Erica Ford has done to alleviate gun violence. The only way we will heal a country that is being torn apart by excessive violence is by properly funding groups that do the grassroots work in the community. I am proud to support such an important program.”

The campaign was launched on CrowdTilt.com, under the leadership of Michael Skolnik, President of GlobalGrind.com and Political Director to Russell Simmons after it was revealed that one of the leading anti-violence groups in the country is undergoing such excessive funding shortages that it was at risk of closing.

Erica Ford, Executive Director of LIFE Camp, said: “Our doors have been re-opened because of the generosity of Ms. Simmons as well as the over 500 other amazing people who have donated to our program.  We are fully operational and look forward to continuing the work to keep our community safe.”

The campaign lasted 31 days.
