(Yahoo!) - Some people really want to get their hands on Oprah's hand-me-downs! The talk show queen hosted what she called "the biggest yard sale ever" at the Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet Club on Saturday, Nov. 2, and fetched nearly $600,000 for her personal items, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The "Oprah Winfrey Collection," which included "antiques, contemporary items, and fine art" from the OWN founder's homes in Santa Barbara, Chicago, Hawaii, and Indiana, attracted many buyers who simply wanted to own something that belonged to Oprah, no matter how high the price.
The big-ticket item of the day was six 18th century Louis XVI armchairs with hand-embroidered details, which sold for $60,000, reported the Times.
One of O's teapots nabbed $1,000, but was reported to be worth less than $100. A set of crystal lamp bases without the shades, worth $200 to $400, grabbed $2,500. A dog portrait characterized in the catalog as "folk art" went for $1,400 –about three times its estimated value.

The proceeds from the sale will all be donated to the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy Foundation College Fund, which is dedicated to helping graduates of The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls — South Africa attend colleges and universities around the world. The final tally for the auction will be revealed on Monday.
It sounds like Oprah had a pretty good day at the bidding block. Would you have paid that much for one of O's pieces?
