England received a World Cup wake-up call on Friday, slipping to a 2-0 defeat to Chile at Wembley.

On what was expected to be a jubilant occasion for a number of young debutants - Fraser Forster, Jay Rodriguez and Adam Lallana started for Roy Hodgson's side - it was the South Americans who really impressed.

Alexis Sanchez was the standout for the visitors, scoring twice in a clinical performance, while Gary Medel and Edu Vargas also caught the eye.

For England, Lallana and Wayne Rooney can feel happy with their displays, but a number of players flattered to deceive.
