Kanu has a heart of gold – Rob Burns

The First Group, a Dubai based investment outfit involved in global hospitality industry has donated $30,000 UD Dollars to the Kanu Heart Foundation to further the task of aiding ailing children with heart diseases to get treatment abroad.
The donation was presented by the company’s Chief Operating Officer, Rob Burns in Lagos at the secretariat of the Kanu Heart Foundation, Allen Avenue, Ikeja.

In addition Burns made a  special presentation to one of the heart patients, 29 year old Okeke Chukwuma Marcel from Anambra state.
Burns described the former Nigeria international Nwankwo Kanu as “a man with a heart of gold.”
Speaking at the presentation of the cheque, Burns whose company made Kanu its brand ambassador said the Kanu  Heart Foundationn initiative was one that could only have come from a man with a heart of gold.
“We see what he is doing with the KHF as a very important step to helping humanity. Kanu has a heart of gold and my company is happy to identify with Kanu and the Kanu Heart Foundation,” he said.
Burns who said he viewed Nigeria as a very important destination for global business called on other companies operating in the country to donate generously towards the Kanu initiative so that many more lives could be saved.
Burns also disclosed that apart from Kanu, the company has global stars like Michael Owen, Andriy Shevchenko among others. “Stars like Kanu give our company give our organisation a face. They are our brand ambassadors,” he said.
Responding, the CEO Kanu Heart Foundation praised the efforts of The First Group pointing out that their relationship has been growing from strength to strength. “The company holds a special place in our hearts as they have been offering us similar help in the past. This is a wake up call to other organisations to follow suit.”
