Champions League: Man.United Is Through to Last 16, Plus Other Resultsof the Day



Manchester United qualified for the knockout phase of the Champions League with a thumping 5-0 win at Bayer Leverkusen. Valencia 22', Spahic o.g. 30, Evans 65', Smalling 77', Nani 88' scored for MU.
In another match of Group A Shakhtar Donetsk stunned Real Sociedad 4-0. Luiz Adriano 37' Alex Teixeira 48' Costa 68', 87' scored for the Ukrainians.
In group B Juventus sealed their first win of this season's Champions League with a 3-1 victory over FC Copenhagen thanks to Arturo Vidal's hat-trick. However, two of the goals were from 11-meter spot. Mellberg scored the only goal for Copenhagen on the 56th minute.

Real Madrid overcame the sending off of Sergio Ramos to record an impressive 4-1 win over Galatasaray. Bale 37' Arbeloa 51' Di MarĂ­a 63' Isco 80' scored for the Royal Club, while Bulut got the only goal for the Turks on the 38th minute.
Manchester City kept their slim hopes of topping Group D alive with a 4-2 home success over Viktoria Plzen. Aguero 33' (p), Nasri 65', Negredo 78', Dzeko 89' scored at the Etihad stadium today for the hosts, while Horava 43' and Tecl 69' - for the guests.
Bayern Munich beat CSKA Moscow 3-1 in Russia to extend their winning Champions League streak to a record 10 matches. Honda scored a penalty for the Russian Army Club on the 61st minute, while Bayern Munich got three by Robben 17', Goetze 56' and Mueller pen. 65'.
