The awards is scheduled to take place on Saturday November 30 at the Walter Sisulu Square in Soweto, South Africa.
P-Square will be honored with the highly coveted Special Recognition Award.
Their recognition puts them up on a pedestal with a few African music greats who have received the same honours.
These include 2012 winner Oscar “Oskido” Mdlongwa, a music veteran from South Africa; Nigeria’s Koko Master D’Banj, who won it in 2011; Somalian born K’NAAN (2010); South African Brenda Fassie (2009), and Ghana’s George Lee (2008).
Peter and Paul Okoye, the identical twin brothers who make up P-Square, have had a significant artistic contribution to music, along the way helping place African music and its artistes on the international stage.
P-Square first showed up on the music scene in 2003 with their debut album, Last Nite. Just like that, the album turned them into something of a marvel.
